I felt it was time to snorkel with the pros in an more exciting area, so I followed Chad’s advice and drove to Two Step Beach. It is not unlikely that you will be swimmming with turtles and dolphins there. The water is not as calm as in Kona Bay and there are stone walls unter the water, that you have to swim over without touching them. I met an older guy who took me to the easiest access to the ocean and then told me not to touch the stones with my bare feet, because they are covered with sea urchins. I put my phone into my bikini bottoms (you asked for pictures!) and jumped. It was great! Those photos in the gallery can’t even nearly keep up with what I was able to see down there. Everytime i crossed one of the huge stone, I saw an other school of an other kind of fish. Chad told me to look up to the surface, so I did. The area underneath the surface was packed with little sparkly fishes that looked like mini marlins that reflected the sun. I didn’t read about how long a snorkeling tour usually should take, but I have been down there some time. When I came back, the older guy that had shown me the way, was in dry clothes and sitting in his beach chair. I moved my stuff onto the lava stone, as it was sunnier there. Later I did a second tour and even saw a sea turtle.
When I got hungry, it was around four so I drove back to Kona. I had read about a coffee plantage that is on the way to town and that is supposed to have the best Kona coffee. The Kona area is very famous for it’s coffee. When I got there to taste some of the free samples I got offered a free tour. I learnt a lot about coffee and was filled with caffein for the next two days.
I noticed that I might have had too much sun or too little oxigen during the day, as I got a massive headache. It might have been the hunger, too. When I travel, I forget to eat sometimes. But even a plate of deep fried seafood at „Fish Hopper“ wasn’t able to ease the ache. I went home and fell asleep, with my clothes still on.
