We wanted to get out of the city. The Adelaide Hills are like the Hamptons of Adelaide.. a german Bratwurst kind of Hamptons. We‘ll come to that later.
We started off with an amazing breakfast at the „Trouble and Strife“ in Goodwood, which is a very cute neighbourhood of Adelaide. There were cafés, butcheries and bakeries and people sitting outside having a chat. After our mandatory two coffees, we went back on the road and took the freeway to Hahndorf. Hahndorf is a little town which was founded by german settlers. All the shops were german themed or more bavarian themed, with flags and bratwurst everywhere. Still it was nice and sunny. We walked up and down the main street and stopped now and then, when we saw a shop we liked. I can‘t show any pictures, because i can‘t connect my camera to the iPad.
On our way back we stopped at Mt. Lofty Summit overlooking Adelaide.
There was still time, so we stopped at the Port, went further to Semaphore beach and enjoyed the sunset at Glenelg beach, which was beautiful.
Back in the hostel, we booked a tour to Kangaroo Island for the next two days. We will need to get up at 4:30 the next morning, to pack our bags, check out and walk to the central bus station, that luckily was only three minutes away. It will be a guided tour with up to 18 others in a little bus. Hopefully the group will be cool.
